The candle of “Amen” answers the darkness.
Some things in our lives are as constant as the sun and others as fleeting as a shooting star. But we are thankful for all light that brightens our paths.
The last breath is as sacred as the first.
We thank on our knees
with folded hands
for full bellies
and fuller hearts.
Morning isn’t just the sun coming up anew over the horizon — you are, too.
You can’t count the bad things that happen. They don’t count against life. They are life. Only count the good things. Let every blessing strengthen you.
Dawn is opportunity opening the door to a new day.
Do not take anything for granted — not one smile or one person or one rainbow or one breath, or one night in your cozy bed.
P.S. I was recovering from a really nasty flu when I wrote this. There were 3 or 4 days at the beginning I truly thought I might not make it. This journal entry was the day before Thanksgiving. And oh man, did I really freakin’ mean every word of this. Even more so than usual.
Life can be hard, but if you’ve got somebody to love — Yay!
And thank you for a house full of people I love. Amen.
